Fun with Photoshop
To kick this class off, I did two images with photoshop. The first was a picture of 4 of me goofing off. The second is a picture of Dwayne Johnson with killer pancakes. The hardest thing about it was getting used to the tools photoshop has, as there are a lot to offer. If I were to do these again, I would do a bigger version of the clone picture, and add different faces to the pancakes from the top down.

Brushes Self-Portrait
I've always wanted to look like a ninja, with the cool effects and stuff. So for this project, I decided to do that. The Brushes used were the water effects and the splatter in the background. This wasn't without difficulty, though. The water effects were tricky to get with auto-select, and the little drops that were flying around were nearly impossible to select. If I were to do this again, I would probably try and find splashes that would seem to be in sync with the body, or have the pose go more in sync with the water. Overall, this project was satisfying, and I would definitely do it again if there's a chance in the future.

Animation Research
While I don't think that I'll do my animation in this style, this video stuck out to me for its humor as well as the unique way of taking on stop-motion. The people that did this, CorridorDigital, have done this twice, and usually do videos with over the top special effects.
Stop Motion Animation
I was excited for this project, because I hadn't really done an animation before. I feel that this project turned out pretty good for a first try. We used whiteboards and paper cutouts to make this. The challenge was being patient with the amount of photos that needed to be taken, and drawing the characters with the appropriate movements. Hopefully in the future we can make better animation, (and better acting.) Video and sound editing was also somewhat tricky since we had never done any before. If I were to do this again, I would spend more time with the animation part and try and find better stop motion apps. Overall, I think this was a great first start.
Apex Logo
Bottle LAbel
It was kind of hard to come up with an idea for a soda bottle label, so I thought about it for a few days, and came up with this idea. I feel that the successes were in how the brushes matched with the colors and the font. The brushes definitely lend a professional quality, though the placement could have been better. If I were to do this project again, I would try to make it look more like a legitimate soda. Maybe some more ridiculous ingredients. I think that this project turned out okay, it could've turned out better, but its not bad.
Butterfly TONGUE Dog
A Snark
For newminals, I wanted to do an underwater animal. One of the words that randomly popped in my mind was "snark," so I went with that. I combined a shark and a snake. The best way I could do it was if the head of the snake was attached to the nose of the shark. I think it looks smooth and terrifying. The snark is on display in an aquarium with a terrified Bowl watching, (bear and owl.) I think its funny, and I did a decent job with it.
The House of Sandwich
The story behind this house is that there was a Polish guy who lived to eat sandwiches. He sang every day about his love for them, and decided to dedicate his life to the discipline of sandwich making. His house is an altar to the sandwich gods, and each day he sings his praise for the sandwich and saves it from the evil clutches of the bread crust.
To make this house, I first pasted a sandwich onto a green grassy plain, then I added some shadow so it would seem like a natural part of the environment. I then added the windows, which I warped and changed the perspective to make it seem like a part of the sandwich, I the did the same with the door. The door's color was changed in order to make it seem like a natural part of it. This was fun, and many great ideas can come forth from it.

Transparent Speedster
The transparency project was one that opened a lot of interesting possibilities. One of the first ideas that came to my head was going so fast people could barely see you or see through you. To do this, I had a camera set in one place, and multiple pictures taken of me in various poses. I then cropped out the different mes and put them in the order of the sequence they were in. To add the feeling of being really speedy, I added the motion blur to the different poses, with the most intense being in the back and easing off with each closer me. To add to the illusion of me being really fast, I lowered the opacity to make it seem l was just there. This was a fun project, and I would definitely do it again. I think I did a pretty good job.
Cool Portrait
I thought that the lines portrait was cool, so I decided to take a shot at it. First, I used a picture that was in the "Speedster" picture, and then used a red background. To help the face stand out against the background, I used white. I had the most emphasis placed on the face, with the rest of the body seemingly fading away. I thought this had a cool effect, and I used the the motion blur tool to help the fading effect work better. Overall, I think this is one of my favorite projects in this class to date, and I wouldn't mind doing more in the future.
Murica Shuttle
I basically made an all-American bald eagle. It was made out of a space shuttle, bullets, flags, and 'Murican spirit. The hardest part was finding the most Murican things that could make an outline of a bald eagle. I had to warp everything to help give it the shape of the eagle. In the end, I think it turned out alright for a first time.
Mario Guy
I decided to make Nick Offerman look like Super Mario. The reason is because they look similar, and have magnificent mustaches. I wish that I had done a better job with the nose, but I like the overall look. It looks silly and just like Mario.
Hand Turkey
3-D Printed Sheriff's star
When I first heard of 3D printing, I thought of all the cool things that could be made with it and all it's applications. What I didn't realize going in was how difficult it would be to make something like a bust that I first imagined. Using Tinkercad, I made something somewhat simple, yet recognizable. The difficulty was in making something small that could stick out. One thing that was simple yet recognizable was a police badge. I styled it like an old western badge by making a star with round tips. I think it turned out really well, and the shape wasn't too bad either. 3-D printing has a lot of potential, and I can't wait to see what projects can be done with it in the future.
PRe TEst Statement
To make digital art, I often find myself returning to photoshop to make simple yet humorous pieces. The most basic tools are often the only things I need to make something that's cool, funny, and to my satisfaction. Photoshop is simple, easy to use, yet produces great result and pieces of art.

Tutorial For Ipad Art
On the left, there are various types of tools to draw with. Each tool has a different stroke, so experiment with each to find the right fit for your drawing. You can change the opacity and the radius of a stroke by tapping on the selected tool. To undo an unwanted stroke, tap the red arrow on the top bar. To redo something you have undone, tap the green arrow. To change the color you are using, tap the circle at the top of the left bar. There you have a set of basic colors as well as a color wheel to get the exact color you need. Experiment with these tools to find the right fit for you!
To save the picture, there are two options. First, tap on the icon on the left end of the top bar. You can either save it by tapping on the gallery and hit "Save Current Sketch," or tap "Share" and save in the iPad's camera role. This whole project can also be done with iPhones too. After you have saved it, you can view it in the gallery with your other pieces. Have fun!
