Most Challenging Project
I would say that the most challenging project I had completed was the figurative project. It's challenging to do a 3D piece, but even more so to do a piece based on a human. The head generally has proportions that are difficult to replicate and skin colors that are hard to get without flesh-colored paint. It also took time to sculpt, taking up about 2 weeks to get the face fully 3D, add the nose, the eyes and mouth were especially difficult to sculpt. While this was the most challenging and time-consuming project, I feel it was the best one this semester.
Mediums
I wish that I had gotten to work with cardboard more. Although it can be tricky, it has a lot of potential in what can be made out of it. It can be used to make both relief and completely 3D projects. Additionally, it can be painted or drawn on to help with carving it or emphasizing certain parts of it. Although it isn't as easy to use as clay, it can bring out some really interesting results.
Project Idea
If I had enough time to make a project idea of my own, I would do a fully 3D movie poster. I've always felt that movie posters were one of the best forms of advertising a movie or showing what to expect in it. A 3D version of it would be really neat as it could portray a scene in a way that a 2D poster couldn't. As a final project, I tried to do this, but couldn't do it in the way that I wanted to since there wasn't enough time. While the poster shown below has the foremost part sticking out, the back could have been made 3D with the people in the background.
