What started out as a crazy idea became a potato, then an Easter Island head, then a face in need of a nose job, then finally, it's a little me! The idea of making a head about myself seemed pretty crazy, as I could've either flattered myself in every way or made myself seem ugly. I decided to go on the middle road and just portray myself as I am. I first made the front face, then I made the back of the head with the support of newspaper fillings. I began to make the cheeks stick out more, and started on the nose. I then made the eyes, which looked freaky at first, but turned out okay in the end. The head looked like an Easter Island statue, so I put in the details. I first place the eyebrows, then the ears. After that, came the hair and the textures of it.
The coloring was the hardest part, as it was difficult to exactly match a human skin tone. I did my best regardless, and came out with the eyes looking best. I feel that the hardest part was the coloring part, though that wasn't the part that I was most proud of. I think that the overall realism of the head was the best part. It almost looks creepy in a way. This is easily one of my best pieces yet.
