This piece is made out of popsicle sticks and used a combination of tape and glue to hold it together. The limit on clay wasn't very difficult as popsicle sticks are rather easy to make a structure. The only difficulty was getting it to stay together with glue and tape. The towers were made by wrapping a piece of tape around a PVC pipe, then attaching the sticks to the tape. Two layers were what was needed to make them sturdy. While I feel that it could be better, it is a good start to making more popsicle stick structures in the future.
The vessel is semi-functional, as the lid isn't very practical, but the vessel can hold something akin to a candle. It was made by wrapping clay around a wide PVC pipe, then progressively adding layers on top of it. After removing the pipe inside and placing a bottom on it, I made the lid, which was supposed to resemble lava spewing over. Since the lava is spilling over, I used it as a lock on the vessel.
The hardest part was keeping the vessels small without warping them. The best lid technique for this was making a ring on the bottom of the lid that would allow it to lock out of sight.
